Deleting your data
Last updated: August 10, 2026
You can access or export your data, remove one connected channel, or delete your whole With Iris account. This page also applies to accounts connected through Meta platforms, including WhatsApp and Instagram.
Access or export your data
The account owner can request a machine-readable JSON export by emailing divya@withirishq.com. Iris generates it through an owner-only tenant-scoped process that includes account data, messages, drafts, contacts, events and workspace records, memory, consents, billing metadata, and relevant security activity. It excludes passwords, session and device credentials, provider tokens and secrets, encrypted ciphertext, service-role material, internal queue/sync/routing/rate-limit state, and cross-customer or global reference data.
The process never silently truncates. If the complete export exceeds its safe synchronous limit, we provide a secure assisted export. Retired provider-specific configuration and diagnostics are not included.
Delete your account and active-system data
- In Iris, the owner requests Delete account. If in-product access is not available, email divya@withirishq.com with the subject "Delete my account" from the email address on the Iris account.
- We confirm an emailed request within 2 business days. Access is blocked when the deletion request is accepted. Iris stops reading connected channels and the account cannot be used.
- A 30-day recovery window follows in case the request was a mistake. The owner can use the in-product recovery route during that window or reply to the email to request help.
- After the recovery window closes, the account enters permanent erasure. Iris ordinarily targets active-system erasure within 30 days after the window closes. A provider outage, provider rejection, or privacy-system configuration issue can delay safe completion; the account remains inaccessible, the operator is alerted, and Iris retries after the issue is resolved rather than reporting an incomplete purge as complete. Iris deletes every associated Supabase Auth identity before removing the local user and account rows.
- Permanent erasure covers messages, contacts, sender identifiers, events and workspace records, drafts, voice transcripts, learned memory, consents, stored channel credentials, durable queued-job payloads, tenant-linked webhook diagnostics and errors, and other account-linked records.
What remains after active-system deletion
- A narrow de-identified security audit record: action, timestamp, and a one-way tenant tombstone for incident correlation. Actor identity, email, IP address, user agent, target, and payload content are removed or replaced by a redaction marker.
- Records held separately by a payment provider or required for tax or legal compliance, for only as long as that obligation applies.
- Encrypted disaster-recovery copies until they expire. Backups cannot be edited one account at a time and are not used to provide the active service after deletion. They expire under the provider schedules configured for Iris; contact us for the currently verified maximum. If a backup is restored, valid deletion requests must be reapplied before the restored data is returned to service.
Remove a single channel instead
Open Settings in Iris and disconnect the channel. Iris stops future collection through that connection and removes its stored connection credentials. Messages already imported remain in the Iris account unless the account is deleted.
- Google (Gmail and Google Calendar). Iris revokes its own Google access token when you disconnect. You can verify removal under Google account connections.
- Microsoft (Outlook and Microsoft Calendar). You can also remove Iris under Microsoft account app access.
- Meta (WhatsApp and Instagram). You can also remove Iris in Meta Business or Instagram settings. Iris uses only the minimum connected-account identity, messaging, phone/account-management, and template-status data needed for the features you enabled. Disconnecting stops future Iris access; it does not erase messages already imported into the Iris account.
If your messages appear in someone else's Iris account
Iris serves businesses. If you messaged a business that uses Iris and want your messages removed, contact that business directly because it controls its account records. You can also email divya@withirishq.com and we will help route the request.
